review 1: I have read every book in the Balfour Legacy Series before this one and I can honestly say I enjoyed every book but this.Don’t get me wrong, it was okay but that’s it. The storyline was classic Mills & Boon with a predictable ending but because I was expecting it I didn’t mind. The one thing I did mind though was the overuse of exclamation marks. Now normally I’m not one to point out grammar mistakes or over-use but this I have to comment one, I am not joking it felt as if every other sentence ended in an exclamation mark, even when one wasn’t needed.I couldn’t appreciate the storyline or the characters because that one thing annoyed me so much.
review 2: Annie first met Lucas at a ski resort where they had one night of passion together until Lucas
... moreleft the next morning without a word. They meet again 4 years later where Lucas finds out that there night of passion resulted in a son he knows nothing about so he decides to give Annie two options, either go through a custody battle in court or marry him for convenience. I found nothing enjoyable about this book. Lucas came across as very arrogant and I couldn't understand why Annie would still be attracted to him after he not only left her without a word after their one night together but also has no memory of her or their time together 4 years ago. None of the characters were very memorable or likable including Annie. I also found Lucas' change in character quite unbelievable. He goes from being a complete jerk who couldn't even remember his time with Annie 4 years ago to suddenly being in love with her in just 2 days. The only thing I liked about this book was that unlike the plots of what seems most harlequin present books, the H/h don't enter into a marriage of convenience but instead try to spend time with each other to work out their difference and misunderstanding and actually talk it through.Annie and the Red-Hot Italian was a quick and easy read but not a very enjoyable one. less
