review 1: Sebastion st. Clair (younger brother of Duke Hawk St. Clair) has admired Juliet (Countess) for a couple of years. Now she is a widow and people gossip that she could be responsible for her husband's death. He arranges to be at the same house party she will be at through the hostess of the party and they have rooms connecting. He is intent on seducing her where she is not at all and now he is falling for her and is trying to find evidence for the authorities that she did not murder her husband and is not a spy. Very good book.
review 2: #3 of 4. The Notorious St. Claires series. Regency. Orig. pub. Mills and Boon Historical Romance Dec 2009The back cover blurb starts out "Bedded by the Ton's most desirable Rake!" and I have to agree with that statement after rea
... moreding Juliet and Sebastian's story. Sebastian is a Rake and he definitely beds Lady Juliet but that is just the beginning of their story. Well, not quite the beginning. First he has to get a friend to invite her to a house party so he can get introduced to the reclusive widow then he is confident he can seduce the beauty. Juliet reluctantly accepts the invitation. She really would rather not enter society again. She has no use for them since she never plans to remarry. Her first marriage taught her that being lonely was a small price to pay for freedom. Besides, she has heard the rumors about herself even the cruel nickname she is known by. She didn't kill her husband as the Ton may believe but she definitely hasn't mourned his death. She withstands Sebastian's surprisingly clumsy seduction until one time and then she can't stop craving more. Unfortunately the host of the Summer house party complicate matters between almost to the breaking point. As you can see Ms, Mortimer will keep you guessing on how the happily ever after will be achieved. She offers passion, emotional upheaval, and a healthy dose of intrigue within the pages of this St. Claires edition. less
