review 1: My spoilers here are totally vague and minor.I really liked the introductory book to this series. It totally hooked me and I had to know what happened next. Book 2, not so much.This is a dark series. There are no puppies or sunshine. It's super cloudy during the day. Seriously. I wasn't looking for puppies or sunshine here, but wow did book 2 get angsty. There are some good parts to it, no doubt, but damn. Poor Val. It's basically a progression from one unhappy drama to another.I don't think books should have "To Be Continued" cliffhanger style endings. It's a copout and not very nice to readers who find a series early considering how much time there often is between publishings of one book and the next. This book, was literally a cliffhanger ending. I mean it! There's a ... morecliff and then it ends!I still like the characters. They're really interesting even if they're kinda depressing and f'ed up. The plot is still interesting and I wanted to see how everything ended, so I bought book 3.
review 2: After reading the first book in this series, I was a little cautious to dive into the second one. I was afraid it would be as scattered, and honestly not very interesting, as was the first one. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. The action and adventure, not to mention the all out hot and steamy relationship with Val & Lucas, redeemed the series. It was a roller coaster ride, but oh-so-much fun! I like the growth that Val had in this series, and I love the intensity of all the characters. I like the addition of the other vampires, and their utter ruthlessness. I will say, however, that at times, Val's whiny, childish ways and utter naivete did grind on my nerves. Other than that, a really good read. It was definitely not worldly literature, but it definitely qualifies as good Calgon material or a beach book :) less

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! Well I thought it was impossible, but I loved it better than the first one! This is one of those books that the second book is actually better than the first one. I couldn't put it way, I kept reading, and reading until I realized it had ended!!! and then I was like really??? Now What??? Well, now I bought the third one, and will read like right now!:) Adoro este libro, ha sido una gran sorpresa pues no todos lo días uno encuentra un libro que es mejor que el primero y te deja con unas ganas tremendas de leer el tercero en ese mismo momento!Para decirlo de otra manera, desde que comenzé a leer el libro no pude para hasta que no lo terminé, y ahora que ya lo leí estoy buscando el tercero con urgencia. ¡En fin, lo recomiendo 100% a personas que le guste este género, no se lo pierdan!

4.25So I know this series really gets mixed reviews. I love it though! The funny thing is I can't really place my finger on why either. I don't care for jack and Lucas can be a cold hearted sob at times but I can't help but like him. This one picks up where the cliffhanger ends from the first book and I can't wait to see what happens in the third. This book was action packed from start to finish and there were times it was so hot my kindle was smoking a little lol.
