review 1: Not much to say about this book. It certainly was Davinci Code-ish but the characters were thin and the action scenes were not very believable. It scores points for an interesting plot premise: Jesus' bones were discoverable and could be used to determine that he was not divinely created; an elaborate search to find to his bones (along with others related to him) that spans interesting cities; parallel narratives that go back to the time of Jesus and tell the story of Judas; and ending that uncovers that Judas posed as Jesus and dies on the cross in his place. The characters were thinly developed and somewhat cliche...the romance among two of them was forced and even comical. I wouldn't recommend this and won't read the sequel books.
review 2: I just couldn
... more't get into this book. I started it months ago and simply can not force myself to pick it back up. From the title I was expecting something with historical fiction with a current mystery worked in. I guess that is what it is about, but the story lacks what it takes to get me to pick it back up. So after months of it being on my "currently reading" list, it is time to give it up as a bad job. I may try again another time. less
