review 1: Why do most average writers end their stories with an encounter in the final chapters between the bad guy and the good guy wherein the bad guy explains why "he done it" while he threatens the life of the good guy who has to pretend that he is surprised at the unraveling of the mysteries (when in fact he had figured it out already ... because he is that good, you know) then with luck and cunning, the good guy finds a way out of his predicament and kills the bad guy or gets away from him but not before the bad guy finishes telling him everything the readers need to know?????? This story was thankfully short and an easy read.
review 2: The premise of this book sounded wonderful; it is just the kind of book I love. Unfortunately, like many others have said before ... moreme, the actions of the characters didn't make a lot of sense. I think I was supposed to find their flaws endearing, but there really were no redeeming qualities to be found. Two in particular needed some in depth counseling; I don't believe in the real world they would have been allowed to hold those positions. I won't go into what others have said, they pretty well summed it up for me. I do have to comment that I think the author has some good writing skills and I would like to see a better formulated story in the future, just think it through better, make sure things make sense. The book moved surprisingly fast and I found myself finishing this book quickly. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. less
