review 1: A dark and interesting twist on the classic Rapunzel. This story focuses on the rise and fall of this long-haired beauty, interwoven with Snow White's. Through Rapunzel's eyes we see the vulnerability of humanity, so easily savaged by jealousy and lust. My favourite part has got to be how Mathena transformed into a falcon... Perhaps she had finally found peace after pouring her secrets out to Rapunzel. For a moment I thought Rapunzel was going to have her poisoned apple all by herself to end her wickedness. She might have rescued Snow from the bandits but it didn't change the fact that she had a hand in killing Queen Teresa. Thought she got off pretty easily for such a crime.
review 2: I'm a sucker for fairy tales so I was very intrigued about this book after r
... moreeading the synopsis. I read Mermaids by the same author and I enjoyed that book so I was looking forward to reading this book. Overall I liked this take of Rapunzel and Snow White. Putting them together was new. I really couldn't put the book down cause I wanted to know how it would end. I'm up in the air whether to give this book 3 or 4 stars. Just the ending left me feeling kinda weird. I don't want to give away spoilers but I'm kinda bummed. less

I found this book too dark for children, and too flat (& in some ways shallow) for any age.
