review 1: I love the premise of these books. What a fabulous way to start a series! The seven girlfriends are all together at their favorite hangout when there is a bad storm and all of them get struck by lightning. The mayhem that this causes is the basis for this series. Lily is a wonderful heroine with great quirks that are funny to read about. I would love to have her as a friend. She and her friends are so loyal to each other it is very heartwarming to read about. It must be so comforting to have friends that you trust so much that you have absolutely no hesitations about calling on them to help with a life or death situation.Shade on the other hand needs wacking upside the head for most of the story. He is so drop dead sexy and sweet but at the same time. . .the frustrating th... moreing here is that I can't tell you why I wanted to wack him as it would lead to spoilers. On the other side of the coin, he is one of the most empathetic alphas I've ever read about! I loved how he dealt with Lily through the confusion and pain that his TSTL moments caused. I know, that sounds confusing, you'll just have to read the story to find out what I'm talking about.
review 2: Rated 4 1/2 stars -- Dust Of My Wings is a great introduction story to Carrie Ann Ryan’s new Dante’s Circle series. The unbreakable friendship between the characters are a paramount part of this storyline, then add in the touching but high octane romance between our lead characters Shade and Lily, throw in some spine-tingling suspense, under- tones of politics at work along with some very good action scenes and the result is you have a wonderful read. I look forward to reading all the future books in this very interesting series. less
