review 1: I first heard about Carrie through two of my heroes, Dan Miller's 48 Days podcast and Dave Ramsey's podcast. I knew she was a very successful businesswoman and I was excited to see she published a book. The first part of this book was not what I expected. She shared a bit about her story, but instead of digging deeper into the details, she often repeated the same high level accomplishments. Those are great, but I really wanted her to share how she did those life changes. Not too much detail, but maybe one chapter to describe:1. This is how I changed my career2. This is how I increased my health3. this is how I prioritized my family4. This is how I changed my financial wellbeing, etc. The last half of this book was more what I was looking for in this book. She outlines vari... moreous types of business models, runs through how to determine what are best avenues for to-be business owners and give very useful overview on how to get your message out to the public. Although I had some comments about what I wish was in the book, don't let it keep you from checking this out. It was a very solid book and I'm glad I read it.
review 2: This book helped me start thinking about what I can do with my business. There were many times when I felt the author was speaking directly to me. Stop making excuses about why you can't. Start solving those problems. Do massive action until completion. Hire people to help whether it be hire a bookkeeper or a housekeeper so that you can focus on the business. Find a mentor even if you have to pay someone. Was the book exactly related to where I am in business? No. It was more geared towards encouraging someone to find out what kind of business they could run from home. A huge focus was on what the author did...selling tutorials & consulting on her areas of expertise. I took what was relevant to me and if let me hungry for more. I have started taking some action steps to identify my business and family goals so that I can create a plan to get there. less
