review 1: This book would have been better if it had been more exciting. It was about a girl who due to an injection could come back to life after death. You'd expect her to go on a mission or fight some baddie, but instead she stays in a backwoods town and falls in love with a boy and his sister. I think the author was trying to make a story about the effects of being revived multiple times would do to your psyche, but she didn't do a very good job of that. She did manage to when an important character died and the Daisy was distraught over still being alive. Survivors guilt. But the rest of the story was of little intrigue and had strange sporadic plot advancements that were put there because the author wasn't creative enough to come up with a better way to move the book a... morelong.
review 2: Daisy Appleby is a 16-year-old girl who got killed in a bus crash when she was 5 years old along with 19 other kids and the driver. Everyone in the crash became a part of a secret government project called revive. Revive is a drug that brings bodies back from the dead, but only if the body was healthy when it died. Every time you die you must change your last name and location. Daisy had to be assigned "new parents" because her parents were not good to her. She got paired with Mason and Cassie.(Secret agents). Daisy had become close friends with this girl Megan who was also in the bus crash and they have a blog together. Daisy Appleby got killed by bees (because she is allergic) and had to move to Omaha, Nebraska, as Daisy West. The first day of school she becomes friends with Aubrey, whose locker is near hers. Daisy takes 11th grade courses even though she is in 10th grade. In her english class she sees a guy named Matt who she thinks is really cute and develops a crush on him. She goes over to Aubrey's house and finds out that Matt is Aubrey's brother. Daisy and Matt later became a "thing" and Matt tells Daisy that Aubrey has cancer. Daisy feels scared because she knows Aubrey is going to die. Once Daisy can't take anything anymore she tells Matt the big Revive secret. Aubrey later dies and Matt gets mad at Daisy for telling him about a drug that cannot help his sister. Daisy starts to get mad at "God" (head of Revive) and tries to figure out what God is up to. She finds out that God caused the bus crash and also that Cassie is Gods daughter who had been spying on her the entire time. The whole Revive program gets terminated. I thought it was a really good book but there was too much description of what was going on between Matt and Daisy and Aubrey and not so much about the actual Revive program. I would recommend this book. less
