review 1: I won this story through the Publisher through the MM Romance Goodreads group(as a contest winner). Thank you.I have had this story on my TBR shelf for a while and I was excited when it was a choice as a prize. Overall, I enjoyed this story. A solid 3 in my book. This is an unrequited love becomes requited. Our main couple is Bran and Evan. Everyone else see how they act and view each other, but they don't ever fully talk it all out. Miscommunication. If they had talked out their feelings, they could have avoided some drama, just saying. We have Evan, who leaves to start a new chapter in his life after high school graduation. He was at least lucky enough to have a roof over his head until then, but never truly had a family. He is used to disappointed and people lea... moreving him. He knows he is pretty, but has low self esteem, never thinking he will be able to keep someone around. He assumes they will get bored with him(or something) and end up leaving him in the end. We have Bran, the Pron Star. He has been in the business since he was young, 10 years or so of this lifestyle. He simply doesn't enjoy his job anymore and regrets it. He feels he is to old to start over. At least, he helps on the business end also. But he feels that his life is already set in stone, and Evan doesn't need him to hold him down. Bran feels Evan deserves more. Plus, a part of him feels that Evan is to young for him. I liked Evan in this story. He knows what he wants, but can still be shocked/shy at times. I feel he is portrayed well. I was a bit confused at first, because I thought this was a GFY story. That he didn't really think about being attracted to guys until he meets Noah aka Bran. But later in the story, it seems he has always been gay. Anyhow, he is a virgin in not just sex but socializing. He has always keep himself on the down-low and kept to himself. But in his new job he meets different guys and actually strikes up a friendship to two. Bran. He kept referring to Evan as 'kid'. Oh, how that got on my nerves. He said it ALL THE TIME! I get it. Bran had issues with Bran being a 'kid', and how he was falling for Evan. It kind of came across that if he kept saying it maybe his crush on Evan would go away. Nope, it didn't go away. I did like that it was more than just sex. They genuinely had a good time just hanging out, even if the sexual tension was present. Also, I liked how they were almost instant cuddle buddies. :-)Just my minor rant. I am going to be picky for one moment. Evan goes to have his blood drawn for testing(it is required for all the employees). They used the word 'syringe' wrong. The doctor did not use a syringe to get the blood from Evan. It was a hub with a needle attached to it, so they could fill more than one vial of blood for testing. A syringe is single use. Plus, most likely, it was the nurse who drew the blood. Okay, I am done.Onwards. I was really hoping for an epilogue. Evan had this fantasy about owning this house and a dog and Bran would be the man living with him. I was hoping to see an epilogue with that describe. The ending was fair enough. I just think reading a little 'in the future' about the two of them would have been nice.
review 2: This didn't work for me at all. Very poorly excuted story, with NO research into the porn industry. There is not a house out there that doesn't have wholesale accounts for their products. None of this book worked for me. I hate the internal conflict/lack of communication being the whole plot, and both characters were just way too sweet, considering what they had been through. Nothing in this book rang true for me. I am a realist, and prefer realistic stories. On the plus side, the writing is very nice for a new author, and the reason I gave this 2.5 stars rounded up. I will try Cate again because of that one thing. less

I think Evan is deeply lonely and meeting Brandon was a change to his life. A good story!
