review 1: I read this because I love the Dairy Queen series, I love Italy (duh!), and I wanted to see how Murdock told the story of a more peripheral character. While I missed hearing DJ's voice, I still enjoyed this one. It's the story of DJ's brother Curtis' "girlfriend", who's a smart 13-year-old, but very confused about boys and about life. She spends a week in Rome with her grandmother, and that experience reveals a lot about how to grow up and be yourself. Enjoyable read.
