review 1: I haven't stayed up late reading a book in a while. But I couldn't put this one down. What better book to read when I am supposed to be studying for exams? It just flowed so well. It reminded me of Celtic myths and it was nice to see a slight role- reversal. And love. So many kinds of love in this. Mainly about mothering and the sense of love as caring for someone. I can't wait for Christmas so I can spend my money right away and buy the next two!
review 2: Enjoyed it. Light reading and coming-of-age storyline is always popular.It was a freebie and I was initially a little wary due to the negativity in some online reviews regarding the way the author divided the trilogy (apparently author's aren't supposed to leave cliffhangers that make you want to buy the nex... moret book if the book is not 1000 pages??? Ridiculous. It's called marketing and capitalism. Deal with it people.)That being said, I'm not intrigued enough to read the sequels. The story was good and the characters were vivid and easy to like. It just didn't leave me wanting more. less
