review 1: What a fun book to read. What if you were ready to get married but hadn't found the right person to marry, only all the wrong people? For Anne, she is always with all of the wrong men for her. She decides to contact an agency that promises to find her a perfect match. She toys with the idea of pursuing the $10000 investment of an arranged marriage and then decides to make it into somewhat of a project for her to disprove that matching up (arranging) couples for marriage according to a formula just doesn't work. She doesn't tell anyone and agrees to meet and marry her match. That part of the book is so much fun. They are in Cancun getting to know each other in an ideal setting and they are actually hitting it off. But it's just never that simple... The end is great!! Fun bo... moreok to read for any romantic and even for all cynics who don't believe in serendipity.
review 2: Well there were a lot of things i liked about this book but overall it was kind of a disappointment.Heroine: it took me awhile to like her. she is soooo unbelievably shallow at the beginning that i nearly quit the book several times. she has a history of dating jerks (though at least her jerks had the hot V...i need to be more shallow apparently so at least my jerks are hot). So she does the wild crazy thing. She feels pretty wishy washy throughout the book and its really hard to get into her as a character. But every once in awhile she just has these moments where she has such deep real emotion that i cant help but connect with her. Hero: not sure how i feel about him. he was super sweet at times but he also betrayed her trust in a major way. i know that without it the book really wouldnt have had much of a hook but i had a hard time understanding why she would go back to him and i wouldnt have forgiven him.Romance: This book was an interesting take on sort of an anti fairy tale. I liked the whole modern arranged marriage thing that wasnt something ive ever read before and honestly they made it sound so good i was thinking where do i sign up! I rather like the idea that you sort of have to get over your preconceived notion of love and actually work for it rather than just drift through a honeymoon phase and then break up when it stops being all fun (im only a little bitter). Being friends first and lovers 2nd is actually scientifically proven to result in longer happier marriages. Then you add in all the heartbreakingly sappy sweet moments and it makes me really want what they have (currently on a dating hiatus because dating sucks!). Then the big oh no happens and as i mentioned above im not sure i really could get into the relationship after what happened.Sex scenes: bah we got nothing. its kiss kiss kiss fade out "oh that was wonderful." not even a sappy but totally non graphic description. totally took the lazy way out.Plot: I actually found myself really interested in the concept behind this book perhaps because it was a novel idea for me. I had a difficult time putting the book down (i regret to admit i actually got several chapter read in class...but it was constitutional law in my defense and watching my cat lick her butt is more interesting than that class). The plot twist actually caught me by surprise because the blurb makes it sound like Jack and the company are like working together or something and that wasnt the case but i totally respect one that can sneak up on me because that doesnt happen terribly often.Writing: Even though i loved the plot the writing just didnt really click with me for reasons i cant explain. also the ending really annoyed me. Even beyond me just not agreeing with the heroines decision it ends on sort of...not quite a cliffhanger but like a..gently sloped hill hanger. It really needed a sequel or at least an epilogue to really complete the story this felt too open ended for me to really be satisfied. I want some sort of happy ever after even if it was just the heroine living happy ever after with herself. There were though some moments of extremely poignant moments that had me tearing up a bit.Bottom line: an interesting read and one worth the time in my opinion but not something that compelled me to read the author again less

So so...I was bored 2/3 of the way through and then the author threw a good plot twist at us.
