review 1: Liked the second book better than the first because of the Hero, Breccan Campbell, just a wonderful character. Lives with his 2 uncles and has no understanding of women. He is large and thinks he is ugly, so he wants to marry a beautiful woman so he will have attractive children. Makes your heart hurt. Lucky for him Lady Tara appears and he is smitten, so basically pays her father for her. She has already run away from one suitor and tries again, but fails and so is married to the Scottish Lord. After many misunderstandings, love ensues. Hope we find out what happens to them in the next book. Must wait a whole month!!
review 2: What I liked: feisty heroine, brooding hero, comedy, and lots of romantic tension. What I didn't like: not enough payoff and a rushed
... moreending. Sometimes Tara is grating, although I appreciated her efforts to speak her mind and assert her independence. Likewise, Breccan is a dummy at times (but he kind of admits and owns up to it, so...). Lastly, a lot of the dialogue sounds too modern for the time period. Overall, I did enjoy the story and want to go back to read the first book. The second can be read as a standalone, but it contains spoilers from the first book. There's also a third in the series, which I'll probably read, too. less

A sweet story with interesting characters. Both have a nice maturing process.

It's an entertaining story, but the language is not the best.
