review 1: I think Roaring up the Wrong Tree by Celia Kyle is my favorite story in the Grayslake series. I also have a new book boyfriend in Keen. He appeared to have very little depth prior to this tale but Ms. Kyle showed just how deceptive appearances could be. Here was this male that appeared to have it all, I mean his brother is the Itan and his other brother the Enforcer, but it soon became obvious that they didn’t know their youngest brother and respected him even less. But Keen allowed it until his heart was involved and his mate’s happiness and life were at stake. I swooned as he made a stand even though he didn’t expect Trista to understand or even appreciate the rift that was raised out of the darkness. I loved that Trista wasn’t happy about the eruption of p... moreain but she stood by the male who showed her what love and acceptance really meant. Ms. Kyle showed that Keen was stronger than even he knew and was willing to forgive but not necessarily forget. He made Trista feel safe and with her past that wasn’t the easiest task. But Keen persevered and I could do no more than respect him and his choices.I love this series and returning to Grayslake. Ms. Kyle has given me a new man to adore in Keen and a strong female character in Trista. I am looking forward to reading more for her in the future. Five Shooting Stars!!
review 2: I love the couple and the world building. I love the culture of bear and hyena. However, the motivations of the secondary characters which really control the plot of the book make little sense. Such rabid and hate and quick turn around. Heroes from past books behaving very badly. I enjoyed the romance and the lead characters are well developed and engaging but these other elements not so much less
