review 1: Ash's one and only friend is gone for the summer and Ash has to babysit a little girl. Ash hates meeting new people because everyone is new. She has no memory of faces and can't remember kids from her school. Some interesting things happen that summer: Ash meets a man who also loves her favorite author, Claire, the 7 year old she's babysitting, gets Ashley out into the world, and she finds a jar that contains wishes. Each time Ashley reads a wish, she's transported into the past where she witnesses events between two friends.I gave it four stars because there is no 3 1/2.

The cover got me on this one. A fun book with a nice touch of magic realism for a tween girl.
