review 1: Who would have thought you could sustain a novel with only two characters? Him and her. She is all the things he is not. He's beautiful, rich, comfortable in his skin whereas she is a bundle of boring insecurities. How the writer slowly ratchets up the tension from start to finish is amazing and I couldn't wait to see how the book was going to end as it is never clear whether all will work out or not. The denouement was excellent but to say more would be so spoil what is a marvellous tale. Read it as you will be glad you did.

... morepoint. The sex scenes are beyond scalding hot (still fanning myself), but it's about so much more than that as the layers are peeled back. You *think* it's going to be about how Janos, this powerful, cool, aloof, seemingly perfect man is the one who will ultimately be afraid of showing emotion, feeling, and commitment - but no. It's Alissa, the main character, who is afraid of all those things. The tension between Alissa and Janos is palpable from their first encounter, and only builds more with each subsequent one. A fantastic character study, outrageously hot sex, and the kind of down-to-earth details and humor only Stein brings to the page -- I loved this book. less
