This book hooked me from the get go. I loved the story of Mia and Michael! I thought the story was well written, witty, sexy, engaging, and enjoyable. This is the second book in the Men of Inked Series, and the stories just keep getting better and better for me. I was interested to see how Michael's story would go, after getting a taste of him in Throttle Me, and I was not disappointed.I liked that Michael was a tough, badass, alpha male fighter. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a man who looks good and can back it up? I know I do. He had that take charge attitude. The one that makes you all hot and bothered, because you just know that he can do wicked things to you. Maybe even make you beg for it. This book definitely ramped up the steam factor another notch. The sex scenes were sizzling hot! "Eyes on me, Mia. I own this orgasm. I earned it." "I love when you talk dirty to me. It makes me rock fuckin' hard," he said as he reached down and fisted his cock before rubbing it against me. "This is my pussy." He smacked my clit with the head. "I don't see your name on it," I said, winded from the sting. "It will be, but for now, possession is nine-tenths of the law," he said as he rammed his cock into me in one quick thrust. What I found surprising about his story, was just how much of a gentleman and romantic that he was as well. You saw the cocky side a lot, but he had a sweet side buried underneath all that delicious muscle. His mama raised him right. I wanted to be the one that he knocked over at the gym, or settled on the beach with to watch the sunset. "We stared at each other, and I searched his eyes. They were soft and kind and made my heart feel funny. Michael Gallo did not fit the mold of fighter bad boy. He was a romantic, and made me feel like the only person that mattered in the world." "I won't lie. I can't wait to rip those off of you and feel your body against mine. It's worth the wait. You're worth the wait."You again get the love and loyalty of the Gallo family, especially after tragedy strikes. No matter what is going on in their lives, they drop everything to support one another. Protecting and caring for one another like nobody else can. While we love to see the banter and teasing between this family, it was also good to see the soft side as well.Holding her cheek in my palm, I caressed the soft skin. "Is he going to live?" She leaned into my touch, closing her eyes. "I can't answer that with certainty." She didn't open them as she spoke. "I know they will do everything they can, Michael." I inhaled and held my breath, trying not to break down into tears. **** and I had a bond. He was my rock and my best friend. We'd busted each other's balls for as long as I could remember. I couldn't even begin to think about a day without him in my life. I wouldn't think about it.This story follows a similar pattern in it that Mia and Michael come from different worlds. He's a professional MMA fighter, while she's a doctor. He likes the adrenaline rush he gets from fighting, she thinks its barbaric. This series is good at showing how opposites attract. The things I find enjoyable in romance/erotica stories is the build up of the relationship. As I mentioned in the review for Throttle Me, I do not like the insta-love story lines because they are unrealistic. I get that books are fiction and we enjoy reading things that take us out of our normal, everyday lives, but I find that the stories that have the most meaning are the ones that take time and effort to get there. This series, and this book especially, fit the bill for me.There was plenty of action and intrigue in this story. A couple of fight scenes give you a glimpse into Michael's fighting career, but there is also plenty of drama outside the ring as well. Namely in the form of crazy stalker girls. I won't go into much detail here, because I hate spoilers, but let's just say that Chelle wrote a great character for this part of the book. What is important to note is how big a role that trust and faithfulness come into play in a relationship. Without it, there is no hope for a future. Simple lies can tear you apart, and it may or may not be something that can be put back together again. There were a couple of small things that bugged me. I've noticed a couple of times that the same phrase is used repeatedly in this series. The whole "like what you see" thing. I get it. I think it adds a certain flair to the scene, but it's not something I feel the need to reread in every book. There were still a few issues with missing words here and there, but not enough to affect my overall rating. There was one part of the story line that I had an inkling of what was going to happen early on, and I was right; however, the ending to this part o the story line wasn't quite as I had imagined it would be, but in a good way.Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I love getting to see the other characters and the awesome family dynamics. It just makes the story more enjoyable for me. Chelle has a great way of capturing the reader's attention, and building a story line that you want to sink your teeth into. I would absolutely recommend this book and this series, and am looking forward to seeing what comes next. I have a feeling that Izzy will take us for a wild ride.
review 2: Those Gallo Boys are something fierce! And I absolutely love Micheal. He's funny, sarcastic and like all the other Gallo men...Pure Alpha Male.Michael doesn't have the artistic flare that the rest of his siblings have but he has a pure passion for fighting. After a bought, he ends up in the ER where he meets and flirts with the beautiful ER Doctor Mia Greco.Mia isn't looking for a relationship. She's too busy at the ER and volunteering at the local clinic. But it doesn't hurt to flirt a little every now and then.Weeks later, Mia literally runs into Michael at the gym and sparks fly between the two of them. But can she look past the violence of fighting and see the guy that is gaga over her? This was a fun and sexy read and I highly recommend this series. less
