review 1: * ARC provided by the author for an honest review *This is a novel that will stay with you a long time after you put it down. Written so eloquently and beautifully, the intense passion of the words still resonate within me. It is nothing like I have read recently and was blown away with the romantic suspense aspect of it. Cheryl McIntyre did another amazing job. I can't even begin to tell you which character I loved more because even the secondary ones were so well written that you actually felt all the emotions right alongside them. It is a raw and gut wrenching at times tale. Of love lost and found. Circumstance and life. Triumph and tragedy, the bonds of family and friends but most of all it is a novel that will make you FEEL. Filled with angst, violence, second chances... more, it is thrilling and breath taking. Benji and Briar have known each other all their lives. Each so different from the other, so wrong for each other yet so so right. After years apart, due to circumstances beyond their control their paths cross once again. Benji is running from his troubled life. long gone is that innocence of youth. He may of left his life behind but his very violent and troubled life hasn't left him. With twists and turns, ups and downs you will be left on the edge of your seat frantically turning the pages to find out how this thrilling adventure ends. With the help of his friends and the woman he loves, they all face the most horrific of challenges to free themselves from the danger that is only a step behind them. The ending will leave you breathless and wondering. The cliffhanger was unexpected. I loved reading every single page and did not want it to end.
review 2: Cheryl McIntyre captivates me every time!I had no idea the level of "heavy" I was going to experience with this novel. Benji's story isn't a pretty one. The life he and Jax brought back with them is scary and dangerous. Throughout the ugliness of this story, Cheryl McIntyre weaves a lovely love story. I don't know how she does it. My heart was beating out of my chest! I was scared, devastated, moved and in love throughout. I can't wait until the story continues. less
