Lennon's Girls
review 1: Lennon is a highschool senior who is raising his 9 yr old sister Currie. Their parents are worn out rockstars. Jinx is a senior with Lennon but way out of his league and a "goody two shoes". This is unlike any book I have read. I cannot tell you how much I loved the relationship Lennon has with his sister Currie. Lennon is a majoy "player" and in a band of his own. But Currie brings out a precious, loving, & warm side of him. Jinx joins his band and that part of his world begins to changes as well. I am not crazy about this book cover. Doesn't do the beauty of this book justice. I cannot wait to read the books that follows Lennon's journey. This will certainly go on my list of favorites.
review 2: Chris Myers delivers another great YA read. Like Dat
... moree with the Dead, Lennon's Jinx is brimming with well developed characters to root for. Lennon is a charming "bad boy" rocker on the outside, while on the inside we find a responsible, caring but wounded young man who's trying to keep his father from hurting his sister Currie the way he hurt him. Currie is a precocious little girl you can't help but love -- one of my favorite characters. Jinx is a straight-A student and choir girl with a voice like an angel who wants to sing in a rock band. She's been wounded by someone in her past like Lennon, and is carrying a secret that's threatening to tear her apart from the inside. The teenage rock band scene provides a captivating backdrop to the story. The plot is a fun ride with plenty of tension and suspense, but the real story is what's going on inside Lennon and Jinx's heads and hearts. These characters' arcs keep you turning the page, and kept me thinking about them long after I'd finished reading. I can't wait to find out what happens to them in the next book -- I'm dying to know who the other "Lennon's Girls" are, and what that will mean for Jinx. less
