review 1: This is a wonderful, watercolored story about a little boy asking a little black crow all sorts of questions. Questions about the weather, about the crow’s emotions, and family etc. Its a great baby picture book because of the calming illustrations and the few words on the page. The kids sat very quietly while I read this book, I think it helped that most of my audience today were boys. Even some parents repeated lines from the book to reinforce the imagery and concepts.

What I like best about this book is the series of questions that it poses, without really giving any answers. It invites the child to answer and to wonder, and I... more love that it wanders without any real resolution, except that in the end the little boy and the crow find each other. This is a great one to use for those preschool kids who are old enough to understand how to make predictions, how to wonder, and are starting to understand the elements of story and imagination.
