review 1: Is it you who disappears, or is it me? After her husband suffers a brain injury from a tumor, Mia has to deal with her husband's changed personality. When did it start to change? He isn't the same person that she married. The struggle to keep her family together is difficult. But then her husband is healing and getting better. Is she? An interesting story of how hard it is to read the subtle changes in personalities, from health or from environment, or just plain life, and to continue on.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book because it tied in topics in philosophy, ethics, science, and a story all into one novel. I wasn't a fan of the ending, but I believe that the author probably didn't intend anyone to be fond of it (if you read the book you'll see what I'm s... moreaying). It gave me a new perspective and insight into the happenings in the life of families with loved ones who have brain damage/mental illness. I do womder what prompted the author to choose this subject though and if it may be his family history or someone he knows? Or if it was just completely random? less
