review 1: CUt the middle parts and I could have given this 4stars but it felt too long and the same issue being tackled over and over lost my taste for it the second time around. I didn't even truly get why the heroine has so much hang up w/ trusting love and why did the only unforgivable crime here which was done by her brother the easiest to let go? I loved the idea but the back and fort attitude of the female is tiring much more so the second time. Same issue, same grudging acceptance for resolution. Not my cup of HEA so 3stars for plot and other interesting side characters.
review 2: yet another historical romance with the heroine disliking the hero for no reason what so ever even though the hero rand wants to marry the heroine cecily. Can't understand why cecily wan... morets to get married to a guy who is bad looking who wants to live separate lives once they get married, but when the good-looking rand who happens to be a duke proposes marriage to her as he likes her and he will give a her a better life than her existing betrothed, she refuses even though she falls in love with him and is attracted to him than her betrothed from the beginning of the story.. less
