review 1: The plot and writing style were good, but the story itself left a bit to be desired. I found it confusing at certain points due to some chapters jumping back and forth between story lines. Only part of the story was concluded, leaving the reader wondering what the outcome of the secondary storyline was. I don't know if this is the author's first novel or not, but it feels that way due to the non-conclusion of the secondary storyline. With the plot of the book, I felt like this novel had some true potential to be really good, if not great. The synopsis led you to believe that even that even though this novel may not be phenomenal, it would not fail to be a great read. I was sorely disappointed. I may revisit it at a later date because it was decent, but I am for certain my ... moreopinion will not change. Not a total let down, but I would not recommend this to avid readers who are constantly reading, I would only recommend to those looking for a somewhat light, mystery, romance novel to read on a trip.
review 2: Great read. When I first read the description for this book, I did not expect it to be a time-slip book (which I absolutely love). The Silent Touch of Shadows is a very intriguing book filled with mystery around the ghost that "haunts" Ashleigh Manor. We follow the story of Melissa and Jake and how they are related to those long gone and how in order for Melissa to find true happiness and love again she must solve the mystery of Roger the ghost. less
