review 1: I thought this book was a little ridiculous. First off, a majority of the book was nonsense. Katherine is in love with her boss, who she barely has spoken a conversation with. Ok, so she’s attracted to him but less than a month she thinks she’s in love with him although he barely spoke to her? I just don’t get why she is so “in love” with him anyways. That just sounds stupid to me. I felt that it took a long time to get to where the story should have gotten to sooner. At seventy-five percent into the book, there is still no romance between them…just Katherine’s infatuation with Pieter. Even then, Pieter just kissed her out of the blue and then they went their separate ways. I was also irritated with this book’s inconsistencies. First, the songs that were su... morepposedly recorded were “We Belong” and “Beautiful”, than they changed the song to “Promises in the Dark” when Katherine was getting sued. Apparently, the author also doesn’t know what a tornado is because the author first said there earthquake and described all the characteristics of having an earthquake in the book but then she the natural disaster in the story became a tornado out of nowhere and then changed it back to an earthquake when it seem to suit the mood. These maybe little things to some people but it annoys the crap out of me. It just confuses the reader and when one tries to make sense of it, you realize that it was an author’s mistake. All in all I thought this was an overly boring book with no actual plot. This story is just about how a girl has a Middle school crush on her boss. There was no angst, drama, romance, or steam in this book whatsoever. It was like nothing was going to ever happen in this story. Then all of a sudden the boss is “in love with” her too. None of his issues seemed to have been resolved. Suddenly, she is perfect for him because she is different to him than the other women. Even though, we never even get to know what his thoughts were and why he thought Katherine was different. Again, this is a ridiculously boring book that I had far more expectations for but didn’t live up to it at all.
review 2: A quick read that left me with a rather blah and cold reaction. The premise of the story between an older sophisticated businessman and his temp secretarial assistant proved to lack depth. The relationship seemed trite and far from meaningful. I just didn't feel anything going on between the two. And the ending was far too rushed and once again, not much of a foundation for romance or sexual chemistry.(Amazon freebie 6/21/13) less

Totally enjoyed this book. Sucked me right in, I felt as though I was Katherine.

Great summer read! Though predictable, you are happy at the end.
