review 1: This is a pretty hilarious graphic novel that is loosely-based on the Odyssey. I probably noticed the connections to Homer's epic more than most of my students will, unless they've read the Odyssey themselves. I love that many of these drawings could be reproduced by my students which would be a fun activity. A really fun adventure that incorporates an unreliable narrator, mythology and humor too.
review 2: This was really fun to read, and quick. This, Book One, has the feel of something that could go on forever (like "The Good Soldier Svejk", for instance), and I have no idea how long it can keep my interest, but at least through Book One, the idea of Sticatha is so silly and so much fun to say that I kept turning pages and will probably seek out Book Two.I'v... moree read The Odyssey with friends, and I think the author of this book had as much fun with the original inspiration as we did. less
