review 1: Zombies seem to be all the rage these days. Before they become a meta joke you might want to read The New Dead. Some interesting twists on zombies, but I found myself missing the zombie apocalypse/survival horror/zombie world sprawling narratives. Sure, zombie humour is funny at times and insights into undying-ness is novel, but the real fun about zombies is the massive, sprawling world, a concept that this book doesn't always hit on. A big old meh, take it or leave it.
review 2: Wow, these were some of the best and most creative zombie stories I ever read. Okay, so there were a couple that didn't resonate with me, but many of them are among my favorite zombie tales now. I took my time reading this book, hoping to keep the stories from ending up all mashed toge... morether in my memory... I think that worked. There are so many creative ways to go with a zombie story... I was impressed with the variety here. less
