review 1: I have read this book after finishing the book by Kristin Neff on the same topic. Initially, I was sceptical as to if there would be anything worthwhile that Neff had not covered. I am glad I read this book. Yes, of course many aspects in both books overlap. However, each book is filled with lots of personal insights of the authors and each book emphasises different aspects. What a great read! I will definitely consult this book again and again!

I think the author has an interesting background being raised as a Christian and his journey with eastern meditative practices. Take what's good and leave the rest! less

Good for people looking for self-compassion, easy reading, but kind of too easy actually...
