review 1: Phew this one was not very good in my opinion. A sad imitation or maybe replication of the White Bone. Only because it was a man "reading" the mind of an elephant it was just a bit sad and lonesome read of a book. The main character falls in love with the elephant and although life continues to offer him up opportunities he turns then down in preference to his weird and lonely life with an elephant. I found it boring predictable and depressing.
review 2: "The Elephant Keeper" is a heart warming story of Tom Page and his beloved Jenny (the elephant he cares for). Spanning over many years, Christopher Nicholson portrays this unique relationship with humor and great understanding of human emotions. He also tells of the cruelty of some individuals, such as Mr. Sin
... moregleton, with deep insight into the human psyche. I found the story packed with interesting fact about elephants and commend Mr. Nicholson for doing a thorough research of the topic. My only disappointment was that the ending of the novel was not very strong. I would have enjoyed a more dynamic ending, this story seemed to fizzle out slowly. I am giving it four stars. less
