review 1: This is an exciting book being in another state with the anticipation of having a successful harvest. Working hard is shared with the family who have come to Unity, Maine and a loth of the restrictions of their previous home doesn't exist here, it is not they have given up their love of the Amish but with all of the trials and non stop works requirements caused for a difference way of interaction between the family. In this setting she was able to use her old secret to try and help an English neighbor. I love how this book looked at all of the things against this family but throughtout all of the downsides (one a toronado which destroy a lot of their work) I am drawn with how they keep the faith and continue with hope that they will be able to get through and make this ... morea successful comminity. Whether all of the family remain or not there is a feeling that it will work.
review 2: Oh my! Where do I start? This book held my attention from the first word. And the ending ...! It's a good thing Cindy Woodsmall is planning Book #4 to tie up all the loose ends, instead of forcing the reader to wonder what happened next. I do hope we get to see Rhoda and Samuel's family life, see how the Maine settlement grows, see what Jacob ends up doing, follow Iva's life further. And Leah and Landon! Oh yes, there is no question but that we need another book. The problem is having to wait till next April to read it! less

Just the worst for me. There was just too much hardship and the ending was far from what I wanted.
this is book 3 in the series, it was pretty good but not great.
Excellent. It is a long wait until the next book comes out
As always Cindy Woodsmall delivers.
What a dumb ending.
