review 1: Because there are so many books in this series so far, I don’t think that it is necessary to go into detail on the guys and Sang every review, as I don’t think that they will drastically change very much. That being said, I’m going to focus on the plot and stuff with this following reviews.First Days is about exactly what the title suggests: Sang and the boys’ first week at Ashley Waters high school. The boys are on some secret mission to help improve Ashley Waters, but it is obvious that they stand out (with their business casual school clothing) and that they are not wanted, especially by the Principal and Vice Principal. And because they have now taken Sang under their wing, she is being singled out as well.First Days definitely had a lot more action than Introd... moreuctions. There was a lot of drama with the boys not fitting in and people trying to pick on them and fight them. There were definitely some heart pounding moments, especially during the end of the novel. Sang was really brave and tough in this installment, more so than I got the feeling that she was in book one. It was a pleasant surprise. Although she is extremely naive and sheltered, she is also caring and determined, especially when it comes to the wellbeing of the boys. In addition to all that Academy/school drama, Sang has to sneak around her paranoid mother to avoid punishment while also trying to see the boys. Her mother doesn’t like her being around people, especially men, and punishes her throughout the novel when she deemed it fit. So you had the family drama, as well as Sang trying to hide it from the boys. It made for a very, very interesting read.First Days introduced us more to the boys’ Academy mission, included some tremor inducing action, and had a nice family-problems subplot to it. I can’t wait to dive back into the Academy world and see what else happens with Sang and her mother and the Academy boys and the school in book three, Friends vs. Family.
review 2: It's true, the main character is unrealistic and sickeningly sweet & 'cute'.Yep, she's not someone you believe in, nonetheless, you can still see where the character is coming from and why she is the way she is. Her sister, coming from literally, the same place, serves as a good reality check and brings the novel somewhat down to earth.The whole school thing is something that is fairly believable, although the girl with '7 boyfriends' is a bit much. Oh, and of course everyone is good looking - a forgone conclusion.The book is still fun, and the ending left the novel in a place where you want to read on to the next one. less
