review 1: I made it nearly halfway through this one before giving up. I liked the concept a lot, as I am a fan of alternate history. It started off somewhat strong, but it was all just downhill from there. The writing style isn't very good; sentences are choppy, dialogue is forced an unnatural, and character development is minimal, at best. I'd liked to have finished it, but I just couldn't waste any more time trying.
review 2: I like the idea behind this book, the alternate history of America had the Norse settled in Northern America, but this didn't really lay that out for you per se. The story is entertaining enough, if not a little dry, but I look forward to the next book in the series to see how this reimagined world takes shape. I think the idea of where this could
... more go has me leaning towards liking it more than I actually did, but sometimes anticipation is everything. High hopes. less

Interesting alternate history - if the Vikings had discovered America before Columbus.

Interesting proposal that the Vikings stayed when they discovered North America.
