review 1: I really enjoyed this book. I had heard it was a bit heavy on Christianity but I didn't feel that way at all. It was there but it was subtle and well woven in to the story line. There also weren't Bible passages cut and paste in like some other Christian books do (and that I find incredibly annoying). I love Nate! He's so sweet to the kids it melts my heart. I love that he kills all the spiders for Lucy, it's a small thing but means so much. Nate and Lucy's relationship progressed at a good pace yet didn't feel rushed. I really liked the mystery with the coins and the break ins, it added a little extra suspense that kept me wanting to read more. Ended on a good note but thankfully there was an epilogue that wrapped everything up.I'm excited to read the next one.. 4 s... moretars.
review 2: This book was a page-turner the whole way through. I could relate to Colleen Coble and the head-strong, controlling character she placed on the heroine. It was encouraging to hear the things she had to learn about controlling her life and those around her. I enjoyed her spunk and determination, as well the way she had such a strong love for her siblings to risk her life and give up any dreams for them. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a thriller with suspense, mystery, romance, and cowboys. less

Enjoyed this book. Nice bit of mystery. Liked getting to know the characters and their struggles.

This is a good book but after a while, I knew what was going to happen so it kind of got boring.

I enjoyed the story, but it was quite slow-moving.
