review 1: This novella is fast-paced and riveting. I liked the Hawaiian twist to the story, including the Hawaiian words and customs interwoven into the story. I also liked the fact that Eva had Downs syndrome and trusted her kidnapper until she realized the terrible truth. There also seemed to be a couple of subplots going on in the background, too. Bane was apparently abandoned by his mother, something which lingers in his mind when his fiancée decides to leave him out of the information loop when Eva is kidnapped. Trust is also an issue for Leia and it's anyone's guess whether these two will still manage to tie the knot once the bad guys are captured and hung up to dry.
review 2: I've read the first book in the Aloha Reef series and really enjoyed it. I loved seei
... moreng the characters reunite for a wedding and thought that it could stand alone as well, although reading the others may give you more of a sense of the characters.Leia seemed like such a good sister and although she had doubts about herself, she tried so hard to be the kind of woman she wanted to be. I thought that Bane was a little tough on her, but he has issues of fear that he's dealing with, so it all made sense.I liked the mysterious element to the story. Even though this is a novella, I thought it was developed well and it was just right, especially for a busy holiday day.Content: kidnapping; kissing; some mild violence; clean. less
