review 1: A fascinating book, a blend of political and social philosophy with "current affairs". I don't endorse political violence--I'd much rather see people follow Gandhi's path--but the analysis contained here, the condemnation of consumerism and the materialistic excesses of Western capitalism, seems spot on to me. Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world in which art, music, human relations mattered, instead of shopping?
review 2: The first portion which descends through the seven levels of neoliberal hell is a magisterial tour of everything that is wrong with the "regime of work."
