review 1: Not particularly interesting, not particularly memorable, no conflict at all. Forgettable. The main character is typically bland AND immediately turned on by what she, one day before, considered a total aberration -- worthy of being "exposed". And, more than that, she's immediately skilled and unique and special. And the Master falls in love with her immediately because ZOMG she's so unique!
review 2: CAUGHT BY THE MASTER was an enjoyable and very steamy read. The premise hinted at some playful coercion mixed with BDSM – so I was hooked right away.Whitney Elliott is an investigative reporter, stuck at a desk job for her local small town newspaper. With the poor economy, Whitney fears she will be laid off unless she can write an article to really kick-start ... moreher career. When an anonymous tip comes in about Club Esoteria selling sex slaves, Whitney believes she’s found her front page story. Since the club is private with very strict membership rules, the only thing she can do is sneak in the back door…Taurus Green (aka “Master T”) is part owner of Club Esoteria, but he’s grown bored with his life. He sees a chance for a little fun when he catches a sexy little “mouse” snooping around his club uninvited. He offers her a choice: be his submissive plaything for the evening or be arrested for trespassing. Whitney discovered while researching BDSM that the thought of a D/s relationship really turned her on, so what's the harm in submitting to the very sexy Master T for the night…or longer? She may find more than just the next headline.CAUGHT BY THE MASTER was a quick read, but it was very well written. I liked both of the main characters. Taurus and Whitney had amazing chemistry from the beginning. Even though things between them progressed very quickly, theirs was a great example of a healthy D/s with great potential to last. CAUGHT BY THE MASTER will appeal to fans of lighter BDSM erotic romance. This is the first book I’ve read by Cooper McKenzie. I’m looking forward to checking out more from her Club Esoteria series! less
