review 1: I got kind of confused in the book, I think Dahlia Lu likes messy emotions, cos I totally got that here. I wasn't sure if she loved Sayan or Trent more (or actually loved either of them) and it put me on edge, but the personality change when she got back her memory was really well written , like a whole new character. The only BAD thing I would have to say is that sometimes I wasn't what time period this is set in, because it had swords and kingdoms one minute and then you get the mention of cups of coffee and buses the next, so I was kind of in a haze of words. But I do really like the plotline, so that overules.
review 2: I WILL SPOIL THIS BOOK TO YOU SO IF YOU HONESTLY DO WANT TO BE SPOILER-ED, THEN GO AHEAD AND READ THIS.OHMYFUCKINGGOD NO WONDER SHE SEEMED
... moreLIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON!The hero.. I'm against it but he's an okay hero. I'm against it but I like him. He has faults though. Sometimes it is very "all about him".. You know that saying, something along the lines of 'If you really love her/him, then let them go. Their happiness is the thing that matters the most.' Well. When she left him and he believed it was because she chose Trent he cried for her to come back and went through a mental breakdown screaming he loves her, needs her, doesn't want to be abandoned, ect. And then later she, Idk why, but she suddenly pops back into his life out of the blue. The author should have gave us more of a reason as to why the heroine would come back. It felt like because baby Sayan didn't get the thing he wanted, the author had to immediately fix that and give the thing he wanted back to him. I think Nala (I don't like calling her that. She's not Nala to me. I'll call her Nala2) cares for him but it doesn't feel like love. It's like she's just INDULGING his love interest. Letting him have her for awhile, since he's being persistent and acting like a baby. 'Mine! No one gets you! My person/My thing!' Nala's like a mother saying 'ok, ok, you can have it/me, for awhile. Now be a good boy.' It's 'for awhile', because it feels like she's just giving him herself to do with as he wants until he's satisfied or until he's dead and then she goes back to Trent; she's not treating the relationship seriously. He's the one happy that she's his wife, he's the one thinking about kids, she doesn't have interest in those things. And then when the author writes stuff saying or implying she loves him it seems very fake and seems like an afterthought e.g., author: oh, Nala2 needs to say her love, writes "Nala2 loves Sayan.." I'm exaggerating and that line doesn't exist but I'm trying to make my point across. Nala2 isn't genuine in her feelings for him. And it feels like a family relationship, like he's her mother or guardian(which she was), not like a romantic relationship. Except she sleeps with him when he wants to. My point, he wants, he gets. She just enables. I also think she's indulging him because he's the only other one she feels something about, that caring feeling, but I think she misinterpreted it as a love like 'I love you significant other' instead of love like 'I love you like my family member/son/brother'. Trent's her soul mate aka the one she'll end up with eventually aka the main guy/hero. Sayan is just a side story for when she's older to reminisce about and go 'I had another someone, not just you Trent, hah! or it was nice to see how it'd be like without Trent, but that was just fooling around.' their relationship isn' stable, it won't last, if it does it's because she's indulging him. Oh and the reason why I didn't believe Nala2 loves Sayan is because Sayan CAN'T EXIST WITHOUT NALA2 (mental breakdown, selfish juvenile-like attitude) and Nala2 is very easy, cool, chill, about her relationship with Sayan, like he doesn't matter as much as the author is trying to make it out to be, and besides, he's gonna die and she'll go back to Trent since stupid Trent finally said he loved her. He loves Raya, yes, but stripped to the bones, Raya IS Nala and Nala is Nala2 so I think in truth he's just being a baby too and being obstinant because he doesn't want to admit he LOVES A LOT Nala. Who died, so now he's left with Nala2. Anyhoo, despite everything I said, I DO LIKE THIS COUPLE (Sayan and Nala2) TOGETHER. I SHIP Nala X Trent. and I support Nala2 x Sayan x Trent. This is NOT my full review, I'm coming back and dissecting this longass complex story and making my opinions clear, just short on time here. Au revoir til then. less
