review 1: Hunter is a lost lost boy. He has had such cold harsh love in his life from his family and was not believed when he was young that he became a shell of a person. He learned how to use everyone for his advantage. Not caring of the consequences as long as he got what he desired. the exact opposite of Steve who is kind and caring and responsible. Steve essentially must babysit Hunter but is attracted to him and sees a broken boy in front of him. As the campaign wears on something happens to shake Hunter up. Steve sees this and becomes Hunters rock. This brings them closer together. Without Steve Hunter really wouldn't be able to handle the campaign. As they go from stop to stop they become closer and closer. The snarky quips and barbs these two have along with their tender an... mored sweet moments will have you melt. their intimacy will have you needing a shower.A beautiful book on how ones faith in another and how when you reach out with kindness and love you can change someones outlook and belief in themselves and all around them.
review 2: 3 ½ stars. It was pretty good, above average. It kept my interest. This is different due to Hunter’s personality. His family is politically powerful. His uncle is running for Vice Pres of U.S. and wants the gay vote so he hired Hunter to appear with him during the campaign. Hunter is used to people accommodating him. He is gorgeous, arrogant, rude, and smirking. He’s never had a loving or caring romance. He’s used to quick hookups at gay bars or through the internet.Steve recently started a business of image consulting. He is hired to oversee Hunter during the campaign - to keep Hunter from embarrassing the candidate. Steve is responsible, hard working, and gay.Hunter is not likeable, but he does fall in love, so he ends up showing “a little bit of caring.” The sex scenes were ok, but they didn’t pull me in emotionally. Hunter gave orders and dominated during sex. He acted like he didn’t care which was unsettling and uncomfortable for me. And then Steve became oddly submissive which I did not understand. I was also uncomfortable with that. The sex was not as hot as in the first book “College Boys” which I really liked.Story wise there’s a guy causing problems for Hunter. Steve does something clever to get rid of the guy. I would have liked more development of that part of the story. It’s about a third or fourth the length of a regular novel.DATA:Narrative mode: 3rd person. Kindle count story length: 2,415 (518 KB), including rear door activity. Setting: current day various U.S. locations. Copyright: 2012. Genre: erotic gay male contemporary romance. less
