review 1: It's always nice to feel proud of your country, and this book does just that to any Israeli. But the reason I think any Israeli teenager should read this book is because the authors has managed to look into the Israeli short history and find the roots of the Startup Nation. This way history of wars and distress come alive and become a source of pride and power.I especially liked that the authors has devoted the last chapter to look into the disadvantages this culture brings with it.A very good book.
review 2: A very well written book regarding a topic I was completely ignorant of prior to reading it. I found the story fascinating and the authors do a great job of covering all the bases, from the 1940s all the way to present day. The culture, the geopolitics, th... moree military and the lack of natural resources all lead a trail and explain why Israel has such an innovative and successful economy.In addition to discussing Israel's success in the tech sector, I thought the authors did well to cover the risks in this reliance (as opposed to just glorifying it). I think anyone who is interested in business, economics, history or politics would find this book interesting. Highly recommend it! less
