review 1: Pink's last two books (Drive and A Whole New Mind) have changed me for the better. I've recommended both and have re-read most of them. I believe that it is for this reason that I didn't really get into to To Sell Is Human; it was not nearly as good. The information was good but I didn't really need to be convinced in the first place. I felt like I was the victim of his self-proclaimed marketing skills. I'm curious where he is going in his future writing/research.
review 2: I talked with this author at Powell's book store: great guy. This is a great book with plenty of scholarly research. Reads like Gladwell. However, the premise will be tough for most hardcore sales people to swallow because it revolves around consumers having more power than sales people
... more want to admit. If you are a career sales person and read this with Give and Take (Adam Grant), you will do fine. I used his exercises in my business course because they are interesting. less
