review 1: 3.5 stars...This was so delightfully light-hearted and humorous. I read it with a grin from ear to ear and smirked at the euphemisms and naughtiness of it all.I felt a little homesick reading something so deliciously British; I wonder what the topiary gardens in Enfield would say if I presented them with a phallus-shaped privet... Ha. I'm still laughing to myself here.Very much enjoyed this :-)
review 2: Even if I wasn't a huge fan of Danni Keane's work, I probably would have taken a chance on this based on the title alone (I realise that probably says a lot more about me and my sense of humour than anything else). It's very British in a 'Midsummer Murders if it had been written by Kenneth Williams' kind of way. When so much MM fiction is angst ridden and dea
... morels with some really serious themes (and I would be the first to admit there's a real need for that - of course there is) this was just a much needed moment of light relief. I found myself tittering and laughing out loud pretty much all the way through, much to the annoyance of those who were spending Christmas with us. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to lose themselves in something well written, entertaining and just downright funny. less
