review 1: I enjoyed this, coming late to the game as I've read a only few essays by Dave but never a book. This was in our audible library purchased by my spouse and in last minute desperation for something to occupy me on my walk with the dog I downloaded it. Definitely funny and I especially loved the essay on his trip to Israel, his wife being Jewish and the many cute jokes about shopping for menorahs and doing all the classic tourist things in Israel. Considering the reviews saying his older books are even better, it looks like I will have plenty to listen to on my walks with the dog.
review 2: Dave Barry's Sunday column used to make me laugh so hard to myself that my dad started making me read it out loud. I could barely get through some sentences and Dad enjoyed th
... moree suspense of waiting for me to just spit out the punch line through my laughter. Dave Barry still makes me laugh embarrassingly and ridiculously hard. This book was no exception! I especially loved the chapters on manliness and grammar in this book. less
