review 1: This book has something for everyone. For those who are just starting to save or have had trouble with consistently saving, the first half of the book focuses on saving more and spending less (and borrowing smartly or not at all!). I found this half of the book reinforced many of my choices to date, but didn't reveal anything too surprising.I was more interested by the second half of the book, at which point Chilton discussed registered-retirement savings plans (RRSPs) versus tax-free savings accounts (TFSAs) and other aspects of personal finance and investing. Overall, I found the book fairly basic, which is good and bad. It wasn't overwhelming to read and it broke down the details very nicely, so it's a good introduction for most people. I was hoping for something a bit ... moremore detailed, so it was a good start to my reading (and thinking about) personal finance, but it left me wanting more.
review 2: In the Wealthy Barber Returns you will find quite a bit of good advice on how to manage your money and also how to stay away from credit. David Chilton explains it all in a very simple and concise manner. Too many of us live on credit and unfortunately cannot do without credit cards. A good book to read every few years to ensure that we stay away from credit and invest our hard-earned money correctly for a better retirement. less

Not as helpful as his first book. Almost stand-alone as a beginner's investment guide
