John Russell
review 1: All right, all right, I'm a sucker for any book about the Nazi era. John Russell is a quadruple spy, who passes information to the Germans, the Soviets, the British, and the Americans. In a sense, these books (there is a series whose titles are Underground stations on the Berlin subway system) are a comedy even though the times were most serious then. I'm planning to take the full tour of the Berlin underground system.
review 2: John is more and more involved with all the different agencies trying to get information out of Nazi Germany. Somehow he is able to balance working for the regime, British, American and Soviet interests and still help out people whom he thinks should be helped. This time it begins with a young girl who never arrives in Berlin from the
... more countryside. She is Jewish and seems to somehow be a victim. Her uncle is employed by John's brother-in-law and that is why he begins searching for her. His girlfriend starts becoming more and more involved also. Quite interesting. fun to read about places I've been to and enjoyed seeing. less
