review 1: Not your everyday book. The serialist is a book that grasp the audience. The story involves a struggling writer, who is asked to write a memoir for a serial killer on death row. After interviews with pen pals of the killer, they show up dead I'm the same style as the killer who's supposedly in jail or did they get the right guy. The writer then has to solve the mystery himself when he becomes a target. Full of great lines, wit, and great characters the serialist is a wonderful read for those who love the art of storytelling.
review 2: What did the author want to achieve here? The book gives the impression that Gordon had wanted to express his abundant opinions on life, books and love in a non-genre literature, but wasn't smart enough for that, so he made it int
... moreo a mystery by adding gruesome murders in a sexual context and an incoherent killer chase. The narrative drags for almost 300 pages, slowed down by out-of-place fragments of the protagonist's other books and his reddit-meme-level musings on the meaning of life, and finally the last 30 pages offer fireworks of a few plot twists and sudden revelations. Uneven and unfunny. less
