review 1: Having worked remotely for over 9 years, I was really hoping to get something more from this book. Tips? Insights? Suggestions? Any kind of research? Instead it felt like an advertisement for their products and like it could have been an article rather than a book.Also... They mention in the book that 40% of IBM's 380,000 employees telecommute full time but then they go on and on about how it's innovative and new. Just really felt like they were focusing on the experience of their small 36 person company rather than entire industry trends.
review 2: I started reading this book (from the library) and finished the audio book version. If you want to know more about remote work, like working from home or any place that's not you official office, this is a good book
... more for you. I have a lot of experience with working on a distance, and I didn't find much news in "Remote". The authors certainly don't need to convince me because I would promote it whenever I can! I found that where I live now (Canada) is more fear for allowing employees to work from home than what my experience is in the Netherlands. While it makes sense in Canada even more than in NL, because in the first I mostly worked in a cubicle setting, while in the latter I shared an office with one colleague. From a 'getting things done' perspective, a cubicle environment is the worst, if you ask me. Remote work just makes sense in a world full of stress, distraction, traffic jams. Flexible offices are the solution and I hope that more people (managers) get to see it, for example by reading "Remote"! less

This is a quick and easy read that gives a practical perspective with good tips for working remote.

Informative for the argument. Not necessarily transformative.

Nothing is as good as an idea who's time has really come!

Not a bad book.
