review 1: Although well-written and on a fascinating topic, The Lincoln Deception was sadly disappointing. James, Speed and Eliza were all implausible characters. They rode mules or rode in carriages, to and fro, from Cadiz, Ohio to New York City, then to Washington and Baltimore, but the activity was misleading, these were not real people taking these journeys or trying to solve the mystery of Lincoln's assassination.
review 2: I heard Mr. Stewart speak about his novel at a book festival in Maryland last month. His account of the research that inspired this story intrigued me and was the main reason I bought the book. Now that I've read it, I'm even more intrigued by the idea that there are parts of history we might never know. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and

Had the potential to be a good book.........but just never quite delivered.
