review 1: This book was difficult to read. Violent. In language and actions. I wanted to finish it so I could see if a neo-Nazi punk and an abandoned gay teenager could find peace and acceptance in this world.I rated is 5 stars for the importance of the message and well written story lines.I would recommend this book for older teens and adults who want to expand their view of the world around them. But you have been warned.
review 2: i'm just going to say that at least the intention was good and the message was nice. i didn't exactly enjoy it but i did want to finish the book to see what happened.i'm not sure why this book is called raw and moving though and it didnt really have any new revelations in it. i guess the profanity qualified it as "raw". most of the book f... moreocuses on the main characters younger years, but their stories arent really anything new. i could've guessed that they had troubled home lives and nothing was unexpected. the change of heart they had at the end was given away straight from the cover flap of the book and i kept waiting for it to happen and when it did i wasnt moved or anything. it was sort of anticlimactic and i would've rather read more about the later adult part of their lives than the younger ones. some parts of it felt really cliched or summarized/rushed. also on a side note i thought the ages of the characters was sorta weird in comparison to the things they were doing but maybe thats just me. less
