review 1: I like dogs. I don't own one, because they are too much work, but I like books that ave well trained, intelligent dogs in the. The dog here tries to keep both is owners; his first, K-9 handler owner and his second, temporary needs a guard dog for protection owner, together without the Disney magic we get in movies about dogs. Although some would argue the book is about people and romance and fixing their past problems so they can move on to a good future possibly with each other, I liked the dog.
review 2: It had to be fate, when Shay Appleton meets the dog she adopted at the shelter it seems like it was perfect timing. Her ex is not taking no for an answer and she needs all the protection she can get. However Shay never expected to find out that her dog was
... moreactually a K-9 dog and his owner has just showed up on her doorstep demanding his dog back. Officer James Cannon wants to believe Shay is a thief, but the more he delves into how she acquired the door the more he realizes it is of his own making. It doesn't take much for James to realize that Shay is afraid of something and the cop and man in him wants to protect her. As James gets her to agree to see where the chemistry between them is going, he can't help the feeling in his gut that he needs to keep her close. This was pretty good. A bit rushed in some places and Shay is a hot mess. I think I would have liked more delved into her past, you get answers but it felt like it could have been explored a bit more. James is a rock and for Shay that is important, she has lived a life of let downs. I would check out more in this series. less
