Odd Thomas
review 1: While I dearly love the character of Odd Thomas and have given high ratings to the first 4 books in the series, this one fell short just a bit. For me, Koontz spent too much time throughout the story -- in particular the first half of the book -- in detailed description of the setting, which distanced me from Odd, our beloved protagonist. Also, the story had some gaps for me, and at times, it felt like it didn't have a "wholeness" to the purpose. This was by far the most graphic and violent of the books, and I'm not sure this was a good choice as it overshadowed the goodness and gentleness of the character we love so dearly.
review 2: More of the same but as well-done as the rest. I find myself running out of Odd Thomas books quickly and I am disappointed. I
... more hope Mr. Koontz plans on continuing his adventures. I am very fond of this young man and now I am really curious about his travelling companion as well as the one that joined them at the end of this adventure and the one who is about to join them who has a unique past herself. less
